Northeast IN Coalition

In 2012, the Covering Kids and Families of NE Indiana Coalition (CKF-NEIN) assisted 1,508 children, adults and families with singing up for Hoosier Healthwise and the Healthy Indiana Plan. The Coalition also assisted 1,037 pregnant women with signing up for Presumptive Eligibility allowing them to receive early prenatal care.

CKF-NEIN expanded the Coalition to Kosciusko County in 2012. CKF-NEIN has partnered with hospitals, health clinics, schools and community agencies to help increase enrollment in Hoosier Healthwise and HIP. A new partnership with Elkhart General Hospital is going to allow the CKF-NEIN to hire an Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator that will work in conjunction with the hospital’s Community Outreach Department.

A consortium of partners consisting of Indiana Rural Health Association, CKF-IN, CKF-NEIN and About Special Kids received funding dollars through a grant from Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to implement a 100% Campaign in Noble County. CKF-NEIN formed partnerships with Central Noble School Corporation, East Noble School Corporation, Smith-Green Community Schools and West Noble School Corporation. The school corporations have committed to ensuring that 100% of uninsured children are enrolled in a health insurance program.

Our efforts could not take place if it was not for the generous support of our donors. We would like to thank Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, Community Foundation of Kosciusko County, Elkhart General Hospital, English Bonter Mitchell Foundation, K21 Health Foundation, Lutheran Foundation, Managed Health Services, MDwise, Parkview Foundation, Parkview LaGrange Foundation, Parkview OBGYN and
Parkview Whitley Foundation.
